PCC gets $4 million for health care training

Portland Community College will receive $4.8 million to train more than 800 Oregonians for jobs in the health care industry.

The Healthcare Oregon Pathways to Employment program focuses on training for unemployed, dislocated and other workers and addresses Oregon’s urgent need to put people to work.

The job training will be provided through a community college consortium in Benton, Clackamas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Multnomah, and Washington counties.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 41 community colleges and organizations around the country will be awarded $125 million to help people train for high‐demand occupations.
